What is Pug Cutting?

A pug machine is a track-mounted, motorised oxy-fuel (flame) cutting unit. The torch travels along a rail or guide, producing consistent straight cuts (and simple curves with circular guides) across large MS plates. It's faster and cheaper than manual gas cutting and is widely used in steel fabrication and shipbuilding industries.

At Dee Kay Traders, we use pug cutting for large-volume plate cutting jobs where CNC plasma precision isn't required — saving you cost while maintaining production output.
